We are often asked about the environmental credentials of the drinks we supply and are proud to work with MARS Drinks who work with both the Rainforest Alliance and the Fairtrade Foundation to ensure that the sourcing of the products and support for the coffee growers meets the high standards expected by these organisations.
But as with the last post on this blog, it’s always interesting to look at other angles and some of the other environmental challenges for products such as their disposal or opportunity for recycling. One fun article was recently brought to my attention that showed an innovative use for used coffee grounds. The company, a non-profit organisation based in London called Re-worked, had collected coffee grounds from offices, factories and cafes, combined them with recovered plastics and used the new material, branded ‘Çurface’ to make furniture.
So, before too long, you could not only be consuming a quality coffee in the office from your FLAVIA® CREATION 400™ machine, but also using furniture created from spent coffee grounds.
If you have any other ideas that would improve the sustainability of your office refreshments or want to talk to us about the strong environmental credentials of our coffee vending machines and the drinks available, just click here and complete the enquiry form and we’ll get straight back to you.
